Another zombie game?
Geozombie, created by Posterum Software and its founder Jack Felix, is indeed a zombie game. But the virtual world created in the game is powered by a 3D rendering of the real world. From iconic landmarks to your own neighborhood, you can hunt down zombies anywhere you want. Join your friends in battle on the streets of your hometown or bring the fight to London, Tokyo, or Timbuktu. Everywhere you go you will find dynamic, accurate, real-world locations overrun by hordes of zombies.
The game is significantly enhanced by the fact that the zombies are powered by artificial intelligence and they get better the longer they hunt you. This forces you to adapt and use the streets and buildings to your advantage. At least in your neighborhood, you will have the edge of knowing the terrain!
While the game has mediocre weaponry and a limited storyline, the spectacular use of real-world locations and accurate 3D rendering in a virtual zombie world makes it really fun. It’s an innovative twist on the zombie genre that deserves our recognition.

Do I really need another social media app?
You do if you want to actually monetize your time rather than let large companies reap profits off of your viewing and posting habits. Diamondapp, built on the DeSo blockchain by Nader Al-Naji, the founder of DeSo, is a novel Web3 social platform. By posting content to the Diamondapp, content creators can own and control their creation the same way the can own and control their bitcoin. They are free from censorship and they can monetize their content through creating NFTs, earning crypto tips, and much more. They can also launch social tokens for their followers to buy.
Diamondapp is also unique because it allows for an interface that mimics competitors like X (formerly Twitter). You can’t even tell you’re on a blockchain! And small details, such as support for one-click Google login and MetaMask login show how the Web3 is expanding on Web2.
DeSo and its Diamondapp app are a new Layer 1 Blockchain built from the ground up to decentralize social media and scale storage-heavy applications. It is a disruptive technology that deserves our recognition.

Aren’t organizational apps tedious?
Not this one. MediaWallet, designed by XpertLab Technologies Limited, seamlessly integrates across social media platforms and your other accounts to save content in one place. In the virtual world, you can drown in the sheer amount of digital content. Mediawallet provides a simple, intuitive interface for digital organization while maintaining customization and full privacy protection.
Content can be saved with one tap. Mediawallet will organize your content automatically or via customizable folders (which they call pockets). Pockets can be secured via passwords or biometrics. And the content itself can be easily edited.
No single feature in MediaWallet is groundbreaking. But the ability to so easily save, organize, secure, enjoy, and share your content from across your digital universe deserves our recognition.

The Lohhof Experience, created by the German design firm &Why, is a haunting memorial for holocaust victims of a former forced labor camp. What makes this virtual world so special is that it was created precisely because the physical one could not be. At the Flachsroste Lohhof former forced labor camp in Germany, only a small memorial monument exists. The space for the memorial was limited.
Instead, &Why created an augmented reality statue exhibit. The statues serve as portals into a full 3D rendering of the former forced labor camp where you can navigate the virtual camp from various perspectives. This virtual world is populated with interactive hotspots that allow you to learn more about the forced labor camp and its inhabitants.
The project has had a profound impact on the local community and its visitors. It is a superb example of how the virtual world can be used to augment the physical one. It’s an achievement that truly deserves our recognition.

A credit card company?
Arro, a venture capital-backed company out of Los Angeles led by Ryan Duitch, isn’t just a credit card company. It is seeking to disrupt the traditional credit card industry. Arro creates a financial world for you inside its app. That world includes Artie, your AI Money Coach. Bite-sized lessons also help you learn credit basics. Arro brings together your financial decisions and behavior in the real world and the financial wellness path forged for you in its virtual world.
Arro starts you off with relatively low credit limit but it provides classes and activities online that allow you to immediately see credit limit increases and interest rate reduction. This is a novel strategy in the subprime world. Instead of charging you massive fees and high interest rates to offset the risk, Arro seeks to use its virtual world to make you a better customer. That’s the kind of financial novelty that deserves our recognition.
